Building Learning Power
Building Learning Power is integrated into all aspects of school life. It is based on Professor Guy Claxton’s research. Students learn about learning and develop four major learning dispositions: Resilience, Resourcefulness, Reflectiveness and Reciprocity. Each disposition is made up of a number of learning behaviours, which are called capacities. Students learn how to use these capacities to be effective learners.

Students participate in weekly EQ sessions where they learn about self control, self awareness, motivation, managing relationships and how to effectively relate to others and learn together. The program draws on a range of resources including You Can Do It, Seeing Red and The Games Factory.
